Special Call on Communication, Information Environment Security, and Artificial Intelligence

This Special Call targets selected papers from the 3rd International Conference on Communication, Information and Digital Technologies (CIDT 2026), but also accepts other submissions related to the theme.

Communication technologies are a fundamental component of modern digital infrastructure, enabling high-speed data transmission, global connectivity, and access to increasingly sophisticated services. Over the past decade, communication systems have undergone significant transformations driven by advances in wireless networking, signal processing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and emerging computing technologies.

The growing adoption of smart homes, smart factories, intelligent healthcare systems, connected vehicles, and other data-intensive applications is placing unprecedented demands on communication infrastructures. Next-generation communication networks, particularly 5G-Advanced and 6G systems, must provide greater capacity, reliability, adaptability, and energy efficiency while supporting massive numbers of connected devices and increasingly heterogeneous applications.

Artificial intelligence is also reshaping the design, management, and optimization of communication systems. Machine learning and deep learning techniques are being incorporated into network architectures to address problems such as resource allocation, channel estimation, spectrum management, network optimization, anomaly detection, and security. At the same time, the increasing scale and complexity of communication infrastructures create important challenges related to cybersecurity, privacy, trust, and resilience.

This Special Call invites authors worldwide to submit original research addressing next-generation communication technologies, secure information environments, and the integration of artificial intelligence into modern and future communication systems. The call seeks both theoretical and applied contributions that advance the design, analysis, implementation, evaluation, security, and optimization of communication networks and related services.

In addition to receiving new submissions, selected high-quality papers presented at CIDT 2026 will be invited to submit substantially extended versions. Such manuscripts must contain significant new contributions beyond the conference version, such as technical extensions, additional experimental results, or deeper theoretical analysis.

Selection process

We welcome submissions from authors worldwide presenting original, unpublished, novel, in-depth studies related to the topics of interest. Selected papers from CIDT 2026 will be invited to submit extended versions to this Special Call. Extended manuscripts must provide substantial new material compared with the original conference publication, including significant technical extensions, additional experimental results, deeper theoretical analysis, or other clearly identified new contributions.

Articles must be written in English. For extended versions of previously published conference papers, a cover letter in English must also be submitted, clearly describing the extensions and new contributions.

Manuscripts should be submitted through the JISA online submission system:

https://sol.sbc.org.br/journals/index.php/jisa/about/submissions

Articles submitted to JISA will undergo a new review process that may include reviewers of the original conference paper as well as additional reviewers.

Manuscripts will undergo a three-round review process. In the first and second rounds, each submission will normally be reviewed by at least three experts in the field, and the editorial decision may be requested for revision, acceptance, or rejection. In the third and final round, the editorial decision will be either acceptance or rejection.

Important date

○ Submission deadline: 31 December 2026
