Performance Evaluation of Internet Services and Applications

Special Call on Performance Evaluation of Internet Services and Applications

This Special Call targets selected papers from the Workshop on the Performance of Computing and Communication Systems (WPerformance 2026), but also accepts other submissions related to the workshop's theme.

WPerformance 2026

In an era dominated by digital connectivity, the Performance of Internet Services and Applications stands as a pivotal domain, influencing the efficiency and effectiveness of our daily technological interactions. As our reliance on online platforms burgeons, understanding and optimizing the performance of the Internet becomes imperative.

This Special Call invites experts in analytical modeling, simulation, and measurement of Internet Services and Applications to build a panorama of the field and draw its future, pointing out challenges and strategies to advance them. Therefore, the Special Call has the potential to serve not only as a research panorama and critical discussion but also as an agenda for the next decade of Internet research and practice, mainly, but not only, considering the expectations around sixth-generation technology for wireless communications.

This Special Call targets selected papers from the Workshop on the Performance of Computing and Communication Systems (WPerformance 2026), but also accepts other submissions related to the workshop's theme. WPerformance has been held in conjunction with the Brazilian Computing Society Congress (CSBC) annually since 2002. The current Special Call aims to showcase top papers from WPerformance 2026, foster discussions, and disseminate innovative ideas, methods, techniques, and tools for evaluating the performance of computing and communication systems related to the Internet. We encourage submissions that develop and apply performance assessment techniques based on measurement, simulation, or analytical modeling.
