Hansen et al. (2021) define Robotic Process Automation (RPA) as a low-code automation solution that makes processes more reliable and standardized with gains in assertiveness, speed, and resource optimization. The automation of a process in any business area can be carried out through the use of RPA, as long as they have defined rules. An example of an automated process with RPA, which illustrates one of the ways in which RPA can be used to integrate the physical and digital world, is the one applied in the logistics and tax areas through the automation of the product entry registration process documents, reading the invoice and registering the information on the invoice in the company's ERP system for invoices, bringing this direct connection to the digital world.
