The paper reports that data collection, including sensitive personal data, has intensified in the hyperconnected world, especially in IoT applications. Several reports of security attacks and data leaks raise concerns about privacy among governments and citizens. Despite regulatory initiatives addressing this issue in several countries, the author highlights the need for technical solutions regarding IoT’s specific characteristics and prevent data leakage.
