Urban Big Data Processing

Abstract

This paper characterizes the tools and computing environments used in storing and processing urban big data. Considering the large volumes of data generated in very short periods in the context of Smart Cities, the paper highlights the need for adequate storage and processing techniques to extract knowledge from these large volumes of data with acceptable response time to the various applications, systems, and services.
