Abstract

This article discusses how Brazil can address the challenges of the Digital Desert as a multifaceted task involving education, industry, and public policies. It explores the importance of robust educational policies to shape the future of computing in the country, forming a new generation of citizens, professionals and researchers who will drive innovation and national competitiveness. It also explores strategies and policy guidelines that aim to change this scenario of inequalities to drive technological advancement in computing in our country, from investments in research and development to policies that encourage innovation and the adoption of emerging technologies by the Information Technology industries.
