Abstract

Competitive programming engages and motivates students to develop their problem-solving skills, making them better prepared to join the workforce. The SBC Programming Marathon is the main Brazilian event in this context, fostering diversity and networking in the thousands of students from hundreds of education institutions that take part in it. Despite the challenges of disparities between them and lack of resources, infrastructure, logistics, and specialized teachers, the benefits arrayed justify the efforts of contestants and volunteers.
