Important information
- JBCS is very rigorous with the submission format. Please visit https://sol.sbc.org.br/journals/index.php/jbcs/about/submissions to know more about the guidelines.
- If you are submitting a Special Issue paper, please inform us in the submission email.
- The JBCS allows the submission of articles previously made available on preprint servers, such as arXiv. Prior publication on such platforms is not considered a violation of originality, provided the manuscript submitted to JBCS is unpublished because it has not been accepted or published in another conference or journal.
The JBCS will no longer accept submissions of systematic review articles, surveys, or other review-based manuscripts. This decision aims to better align the journal’s editorial scope with its mission of publishing original research contributions.
Authors interested in publishing such studies are encouraged to submit their manuscripts to SBC Reviews on Computer Science (ROCS) - or simply SBC Reviews, a journal specifically dedicated to systematic reviews, literature surveys, and other types of review articles in the field of Computer Science.
For more information about the scope and submission guidelines of ROC, please visit: https://journals-sol.sbc.org.br/index.php/reviews/about
Diamond Open access
JBCS is open access and free of charge for both authors and readers. All articles published by JBCS are made freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication, without subscription charges or registration barriers. We believe the adopted policy brings greater visibility to published articles by eliminating economic and geographic barriers and making them available to a broad, global audience.
Copyright
Authors of articles published in JBCS retain the copyright of their articles and authorize SBC to publish them under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International Public License (CC BY-NC 4.0). Thus, the authors or third parties can reproduce or distribute, in part or in whole, content extracted from the published articles, verbatim, adapted, or remixed, provided that the appropriate credits are attributed to the authors and the original publication.
