Artificial Intelligence as a Driver of Innovation: Opportunities and Challenges for Emerging Startups in the tecnoPARQ Ecosystem

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been transforming production practices and business strategies. This article examined its application in startups at the pre-incubation stage within tecnoPARQ/UFV through a qualitative, exploratory study of 31 projects from 2024 to 2025, based on institutional documents and questionnaires. Approximately 35% of the startups already use AI, particularly in the IT, health, and agribusiness sectors. Key applications include automation, personalization, and diagnostics, while challenges such as algorithmic bias and digital exclusion also emerge.
