Responsive international missions as part of the Tecnopuc Anywhere strategy: the SXSW 2025 case

Abstract

Connecting global innovation events to ecosystem strategy is the starting point of this report, which presents the experience of Tecnopuc – PUCRS Science and Technology Park at South by Southwest (SXSW). The international mission adopted a responsive methodology, focused on generating value before, during, and after the event, not only for the direct participants but for the entire innovation ecosystem. The initiative functioned as a community activation effort aligned with the Tecnopuc Anywhere project, aimed at expanding the park’s presence beyond its physical boundaries. With the largest group ever gathered for an international mission promoted by Tecnopuc, the experience resulted in strategic partnerships, high engagement, and a strong sense of belonging. The model, replicable in other contexts, reinforces the potential of innovation ecosystems as global connection agents, without losing sight of their identity and commitment to local transformation.
