Keywords:
Community Universities, Science and Technology Parks, Regional InnovationAbstract
This article analyzes the role of Science and Technology Parks (STPs) in Community Universities (CUs) in Rio Grande do Sul, focusing on their contribution to innovation, socio-economic development, and regional sustainability. Using a qualitative exploratory approach, surveys and interviews were conducted with managers of STPs linked to the Gauch Regional Innovation Environment Network (REGINP), collecting data between November 2024 and February 2025. The findings reveal that these parks play an important role in promoting innovation and knowledge transfer, despite facing challenges related to financial sustainability and resource acquisition. The study broadens the understanding of the potential of CUs to strengthen regional innovation ecosystems, emphasizing the need for effective policy support.
