Building for a mobile orchestration

This papers addresses a transdisciplinary research between areas of music, computing, acoustics and ceramics ans presents the development of an instrument composed of several smartphones that communicate through network protocols generated in patches created in pure data in conjunction with the MobMuPlat platform. Therefore, we have a set of "voices", where each cell phone plays the role of an abstract musician. These cell phones are coupled in amplifiers modeled in ceramic that respond in different ways to the frequencies played, thus creating an altered sound layer, composing the instrument not only as an amplifier, but also as an effect, influencing the final timbre.
