Automating business process model discovery and conformance checking are the most popular types of process mining. They are present as functionalities in most existing process mining tools, reveal important information about a process, and support the efficient and effective work of process managers. In this article, we present an illustrative example of the informative potential of these two types of process mining. As an addendum, we provide an infographic with background information that provides a quick overview of key concepts in the field.
