Abstract

The Brazilian Judiciary is a complex institution that receives over 25 million new lawsuits annually. Each demand is unique and requires a deep analysis by human beings. At the same time, the Judiciary system needs to be efficient and effective. To face this challenge, relying on recent technological advances is essential. This article presents the contributions of the Process Mining area to the Judiciary system. In particular, it describes the JuMP (Judiciário com Mineração de Processos, Judiciary with Process Mining in a free translation) tool. JuMP considers the suggestions and desires of the Judiciary representatives. It is now available to all members of the Brazilian courts. The article also describes new challenges raised by prominent members of the Brazilian Judiciary System.
