Information System for Scheduling 4.0: Characterization, UX and LGPD

The mass adoption of smartphones is reshaping the digital healthmarket. Among the technological solutions for digital health exist those specifically for scheduling medical appointments. However, we observed that existing solutions are still professional-centric. In this work, we first (i) categorize the existing scheduling models. Afterwards, (ii) we present a case study of the MedBe mobile application, which adopts the Scheduling 4.0 model for patient-centered appointment scheduling. This study was based on the Customer Focus Theory, which takes into account customer satisfaction throughout the development and evaluation of the software. In this context, we employed the UXUG-AP self-assessment technique and a quantitative survey using a questionnaire based on TAM indicators and sentences. Finally, (iii) we address the implications of digital security in the Scheduling 4.0 model from the perspective of the General Data Protection Law (LGPD). Our results demonstrate that MedBe meets 84% of the items of the UXUG-AP technique. The usability survey results show that 68.6% of participants consider MedBe easy to use and, 62.9% disagree that using MedBe requires a lot of mental effort. Finally, we proposed and implemented new functionalities for MedBe’s compliance with the LGPD.
