The role of Projetão UFPE in education for innovation and entrepreneurship within Pernambuco’s innovation ecosystem

This article analyzes the contribution of the course “Projetão”, offered by the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), to strengthening the innovative and entrepreneurial movement within Pernambuco’s innovation ecosystem. The course was created to address learning challenges associated with the initial stage of the innovation process, focusing on the identification and validation of problems and solutions (problem–solution fit). Since its inception, more than 2,500 undergraduate students have participated, leading to the involvement of several projects in local incubation environments, such as Parque Tec and Porto Digital, as well as the establishment of 22 startups. Its methodology has been replicated by seven Brazilian universities and recognized by entrepreneurs and key ecosystem stakeholders, positioning the course as a strategic instrument connecting universities and regional innovation environments.
