Representações Contextual-Esparsas na Modelagem de Tópicos: Ponderação, Expansão e Limitações

Abstract

Este trabalho investiga o uso de representações contextual-esparsas na Modelagem de Tópicos (MT), buscando preservar a interpretabilidade das representações esparsas e incorporar informações semânticas provenientes do contexto. Para analisar os efeitos da ponderação e da expansão contextual de termos produzidas pelo SPLADE, propomos três configurações: Padrão, Corte Global e Interseção. A avaliação considera as coleções ACM, WOS e 20NG, comparando as configurações propostas com diferentes abordagens de MT. Os resultados mostram que a Interseção alcança desempenho competitivo com as melhores abordagens avaliadas, enquanto as configurações que preservam a expansão não apresentam ganhos consistentes. A partir desse resultado, analisamos os termos expandidos pelo SPLADE e identificamos uma incompatibilidade entre o vocabulário do modelo e o das coleções. Esses resultados reforçam a importância da ponderação contextual e apontam desafios para o uso da expansão semântica em MT.
