Abstract

Numerical calculation is a subject present in the curriculum of most undergraduate courses in exact sciences. The subject consists of the study and application of numerical methods for approximating, among other topics, roots, interpolation and integrals of functions, and solutions of systems of equations. This work proposes the development of a computational tool that assists in teaching and learning numerical calculation. The tool, called ”CN Visual”, was developed in the form of a web application, which can be accessed from any computer with internet access, without the need for installation. Aiming for greater user interaction with the tool, features were implemented that allow the manipulation of input data, control of graphic elements and animations that enable a better understanding of the exposed methods. The proposed tool was evaluated through a study carried out with potential users, which showed positive results in terms of usability, ease of learning and user satisfaction.
