Academic certificates are important documents in a student's life, as they attest to their knowledge in a specific area. Because of this importance, cases of certificate and diploma forgery are common. This is mainly due to the outdated method of issuing these documents using physical paper, despite the current era of digital development. The Brazilian government has launched an initiative to digitize certificates, but for now, only in Federal Universities. Blockchain is a technology that provides security and privacy, qualities that are very attractive to the academic environment. Bearing this problem in mind, this article proposes Insignia, a system for managing extracurricular activity certificates that uses blockchain. The system consists of two mobile applications: one for issuers to issue activity certificates; and another for students to check their activities.
