With the expansion of digital games and the growth of the consumer audience, accessibility has gained increasing attention in game development. However, its adoption still faces several challenges. This article presents a Systematic Literature Mapping (SLM) on the challenges of accessibility in digital games, aiming to identify barriers, guidelines, and tools related to the topic. The study was conducted using the Scopus and Web of Science databases, considering publications from 2005 to 2024, resulting in the analysis of 29 studies. The results indicate that the main challenges include the lack of developer training, the low prioritization of accessibility by the industry, and the scarcity of supporting tools. Relevant guidelines, such as the Game Accessibility Guidelines, as well as technologies that promote accessible development, were also identified. This study contributes by providing an up-to-date overview of the topic and supporting researchers, educators, and developers in the creation of more inclusive digital games.
