Student motivation in Information Technology (IT) courses often does not extend to important subjects related to Computer Architecture. This paper aims to present an activity methodology focused on hands-on practices and discussions as a way to introduce content in an exploratory manner. Tinkercad Circuits, a simulation and prototyping platform, is used to develop activities aimed at presenting concepts of logic gates, an important topic within Computer Architecture. A test was conducted with first-year undergraduate students in Computer Science at PUC Minas, Coração Eucarístico campus. The experience yielded positive results, indicating a promising path to be explored as an alternative to traditional teaching/learning methods.
