Privacy Statement

<p>The Brazilian Journal of Computers in Education (RBIE), maintained by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC) through the Special Committee on Computers in Education (CEIE), respects the privacy of authors, reviewers, editors, and readers and processes personal data in compliance with the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018).</p>
<p><strong>Data collected and purpose.</strong> The names, e-mail addresses, affiliations, ORCID identifiers, and other information registered in this system are used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal — managing the editorial process (submission, peer review, editing, and publication), communicating with the parties involved, and meeting legal and research-integrity obligations. This data will not be sold or made available to third parties for purposes other than those described here.</p>
<p><strong>Sharing.</strong> In the double-anonymous review process, information identifying the authors is not disclosed to reviewers. For accepted and published articles, the metadata (authorship, affiliation, ORCID, abstract, references, and full text) becomes public and may be transmitted to indexing, preservation, and persistent-identification services (e.g., SBC-OpenLib/SOL and DOI agencies), as is inherent to open-access scientific publishing.</p>
<p><strong>Retention.</strong> Data is retained for as long as necessary for editorial purposes and for the historical record of scientific output, subject to applicable legal obligations.</p>
<p><strong>Data subject rights.</strong> Under the LGPD, data subjects may request access, correction, updating, portability, or deletion of their personal data, as well as information about its processing, by contacting <a href="mailto:revista.rbie@gmail.com">revista.rbie@gmail.com</a>. The deletion of data linked to an already-published article may be limited by the need to preserve the integrity of the scientific record.</p>
<p><strong>Cookies.</strong> This system uses cookies strictly necessary for the operation of the platform and for maintaining the access session, with no advertising-tracking purpose.</p>
