Estado da Arte sobre a Educação em Ambientes Imersivos do Metaverso

Abstract

Este artigo apresenta os resultados de uma revisão sistemática da literatura (RSL) que investiga a educação no Metaverso. Este trabalho apresenta uma análise detalhada de 32 estudos que utilizaram ambientes imersivos do Metaverso no processo de ensino e aprendizagem em diferentes áreas de conhecimento com o propósito de entender os seus objetivos, os recursos tecnológicos envolvidos e as dificuldades e limitações encontradas. Entre os principais objetivos investigados nos trabalhos analisados se destacam os que estudam os fenômenos de presença e colaboração, bem como os que investigam estratégias de ensino em áreas do conhecimento cujas atividades práticas se apresentam como limitadores para o ensino a distância. Quanto às principais tecnologias de hardware empregadas, pouco mais de 41% dos trabalhos utilizam dispositivos HMD (Head-Mounted Display) nos testes ou ambientes desenvolvidos, enquanto que para 59% dos trabalhos tais dispositivos não eram compulsórios. As limitações e dificuldades identificadas são de ordem técnica, legal, de saúde e bem-estar, destacando-se o desconforto sentido por estudantes e professores no uso de dispositivos HMD, acesso à softwares proprietários e em constante evolução, e dificuldade de utilização e configuração de equipamentos e ambientes específicos. Quanto às oportunidades de investigação, sugerem-se pesquisas ou relatos de experiências que abordem o uso do Metaverso na educação de pessoas com deficiência; investigação e desenvolvimento de soft skills pelos estudantes nos ambientes virtuais imersivos, dado que foi reportado as oportunidades de interação e colaboração com pessoas de diferentes culturas e a possibilidade de resolução de tarefas complexas e criativas; e por fim, as possibilidades de pesquisas de Educação em Computação no Metaverso, desde a adaptação de ambientes virtuais até a criação de ambientes personalizados que possam se beneficiar da sensação de imersão como ferramentas de apoio às disciplinas que requerem a utilização de laboratórios e equipamentos físicos.
